TOKUFASTbot New GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS Solves Rubik's Cube in 0.3s
Updated: June 02 2024 19:26
Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, develop factory automation (FA) equipment and control technology, has achieved a remarkable feat by setting a new GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the fastest robot to solve a puzzle cube. The company's TOKUI Fast Accurate Synchronized motion Testing Robot (TOKUFASTbot) solved the puzzle in an astonishing 0.305 seconds, surpassing the previous record of 0.38 seconds.
Advanced Technology Behind the Record-Breaking Performance
The TOKUFASTbot's incredible speed is attributed to its state-of-the-art rotation mechanism, which utilizes Mitsubishi Electric's compact, high-power, and signal-responsive servomotors. These servomotors enable the robot to achieve a 90° rotation time of just 0.009 seconds, a testament to the company's cutting-edge technology.
In addition to the servomotors, the TOKUFASTbot employs a proprietary AI-developed color-recognition algorithm, ensuring accurate and swift puzzle-solving capabilities. The robot's high-speed signal connection and inter-device control are made possible by the seamless integration of servomotors, programmable controllers, industrial PCs, touch panel displays, and cameras, all designed and manufactured by Mitsubishi Electric.
Demonstrating Technical Prowess and Inspiring Young Engineers
The record-breaking achievement not only showcases Mitsubishi Electric's technical capabilities in developing high-speed, high-precision windings but also serves as a source of inspiration for the company's young engineers. Yuji Yoshimura, Senior General Manager of the Component Production Engineering Center, emphasized the importance of this accomplishment in motivating engineers to further develop their technical skills and take on exciting challenges.
Since establishing our Component Production Engineering Center in 2016, we have been developing and manufacturing high-tech motors, power semiconductors and related products. To demonstrate our technical capabilities in achieving high-speed, high-precision windings, which are key to increasing the productivity and efficiency of motors used in many of our products, our young engineers voluntarily worked to set the world record, resulting in a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title, which has motivated our engineers to further develop their technical skills. We will continue to take on exciting challenges using the technology we have cultivated in motor development to support global manufacturing.
The Component Production Engineering Center, established in 2016, has been at the forefront of developing and manufacturing high-tech motors, power semiconductors, and related products. The center's focus on increasing productivity and efficiency in motor development has been instrumental in supporting global manufacturing.
